The project is to provide a central hub for non-academic student services; a place where students can receive advice and counselling on issues that affect the life of a student.
In addition key learning and study facilities will be provided that can help develop and further the learning of the alumni. This centre will also cater for simple social and private use, a focal point for students outside of classes, that offers an atmosphere between the rigid formality and quiet of the library,
and the overtly active spaces of the Student’s Union. As such organisation and layout are key to the Centre for Student Life functioning efficiently in it’s many uses.

The Approach
Unusually Deploi were asked to join the project after it had already commenced. However we were still in a position to influence the development of the BEP and EIR a well as formulating the approach to the structure of the model and its geospatial location.
We contributed detailed support in challenging modelling areas such as the cladding, roof, high finish internal spaces as well as support in component scheduling and area analysis.
