Smartbloks were developed by Deploi to facilitate fast, accurate and responsive residential sector feasibility studies, though it may be applied to any repetitive buiding typology. E.g. Hotels, Student accommodation etc. Essentially the use of parametric design techniques and BIM software deliver dramatic benefits of accuracy and dynamism to the concept design process.
The system comprises a set of specially built Revit massing objects, schedules and custom parameters which, when combined fill the gap between Revit’s standard concept modelling and full building modeling systems.
The system enables live tracking of unit data such as area, bedroom count, habitable room count, tenure, accessibility, unit types and many others. The data can be presented in accurate tabular form building up area schedules and representing the whole development viability model. Employing design option techniques in conjunction only serves to further increase the analysis potential.
This powerful tool can cut initial feasibility study times dramatically while increasing accuracy and reducing subsequent reactive design change times even further.
