In 2001 Richard was awarded the CBE for “services to architecture and construction”, recognising his work for the modernisation of the industry and the greater satisfaction of customers. Richard is the former chairman of one of the UK’s largest firms of international supply, designers and engineers, BDP. He now acts a client and business adviser.

Richard joined Deploi as an Associate Director in 2015 in order to develop an effective BIM adoption support framework for Construction Clients. His book, BIM for Construction Clients is due to be published by the RIBA in February 2016.

Karolina is a highly skilled BIM Specialist supporting clients across the built environment with deep expertise in BIM implementation, coordination and digital design delivery. She brings extensive experience from leading roles at international design studios and engineering consultancies, where she developed and managed BIM strategies aligned with ISO 19650 standards.

Her work spans large‑scale residential, commercial and cultural projects, combining technical precision with a strong focus on education, mentoring and team development. Alongside her project delivery work, Karolina leads a BIM consultancy and training initiative, designing CPD‑certified courses and supporting professionals in strengthening their digital workflows and project efficiency.

At Deploi, Karolina applies her M&E engineering background to building services modelling and documentation, underpinned by strong ISO 19650 and BIM implementation capability. She authors client EIRs, develops BIM Execution Plans, delivers COBie, Uniclass and IFC data, and leads coordination activities. She also sets up and manages Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Forma environments to support integrated project delivery.

Her recent work includes projects for MTVH, Mæ Architects, The Serpentine Gallery, and Lina Ghotmeh Architects, reflecting her ability to support complex, design‑led and technically demanding programmes.

Michelle works with Deploi as Operations and HR Consultant, supporting the practice with day‑to‑day coordination, onboarding and performance processes. She manages all invoicing for the business and acts as a central communication link across projects, ensuring structured workflows and effective delivery between consultants, clients and internal stakeholders.

She works closely with Kester and Simon on website and social media development, helping shape Deploi’s external communications and digital presence. Michelle also leads the full recruitment process, from role scoping and candidate evaluation to onboarding and performance integration, and manages all people‑related matters for the business, ensuring clarity, consistency and a supportive working environment.

Alongside her role at Deploi, Michelle runs Our Office Manager (OOM), her independent business support consultancy. She brings this operational expertise into Deploi, strengthening internal systems, refining practice processes and contributing to a well‑organised, collaborative environment for both consultants and clients.
